On Saturday, June 29th when I woke up to a rainy morning I was worried that the 6th Annual Nathan’s Ride, which the Red Barn Riders RC spend all year working on every year would be ruined. I was wrong.

The Red Barn Riders RC is a Charity, AMA, Registered 501c3, Riding Club, that does charity events, helps other groups with charity events and attends charity events. They mostly attend events in the Albany, Greene, Schoharie and Columbia Counties, but it is not uncommon to see members traveling far off to attend a charity event (They do Love to Ride). The group was founded on the belief of Brotherhood, Riding and helping out the community.

The Red Barn Riders RC have been doing Nathan’s Ride for 6 years now, to raise money to help with the continuing needs of a local young boy named Nathan. Nathan has many different issues and as he is still growing the family needs money to help with not only special foods, as he has to eat through a feeding tube. But as he grows they need to update things like wheelchairs and such.

Even with the rain falling around 50 people showed up on Motorcycles and another 100 plus people signed up at the Greenville NY town park, to support the fundraiser.

For only a $20 donation at the signup, guests received a free run shirt and a breakfast of Donuts and bottled water (Donationed by Tops Supermarket of Greenville) after a short prayer by the Red Barn Riders RCs own Chaplin “Eclipse” Riders took off at 11:30 am sharp.

The well-planned route took the Riders around some of the most beautiful roads in the Great Northern Catskill/Capitol Region, Stopping at places like “Maple on the Lake” in East Berne and the “Glass Bar” in Schoharie, before returning to the Greenville Town Park for an amazing after party.

The after-party had a Biker DJ, lots of Delicious catered Italian food, Raffles, Bike Games and Prizes. Many guests commented on how much they got for only a $20 donation.

So even with the rain falling this was another great and successful event by the Red Barn Riders RC and well over $3000 was raised to help out Nathan and his Family. The Red Barn Riders RC was founded in 2017 and is still based out of Medusa NY.
