2019 has come and is almost gone already… Biketoberfest always means the beginning of fall… we here in Florida wish the weather would remember that…. Hot as Hell this year but at least it didn’t rain on us til late Friday night…

Turner’s Cycles had a GREAT turnout for their Chop-A-Billy Bike Show that OSB Magazine sponsored on Friday afternoon… Bruno Guillory took Best of Show with his 1953 Pan head… His beautiful bike will be featured this month in the web site issue AND in the next print copy!… Check out the pictures of all the winning bikes, like and share too… they worked hard on these bikes and it shows!… Thank you to everyone for showing your support for both Wendell Turner and Me (Valgal) we work hard to bring you the events and fun going on around Brevard county and surrounding areas…

ENJOY~

Midwest Motorcycle Antique and Custom Motorcycle Show

I wasn’t quite sure about having this event the same day as the Daytona 500, but, that didn’t do a thing to diminish the Midwest crowd!!! At the Beaver Bar, bikes kept filing in all day long, and, I’d call this show a success!!

A great display of custom and antique machines, fighting it out for some beautiful hand made trophies,

while the live band, Crashrocket, cranked out some knock-down, drag-out modern day sounds, much to the delight of the crowd!! As always, lots of pretty ladies drifting around the grounds, while overhead, a large bald eagle seemed to be checking everything out…neat!!! Hungry…thirsty…well, they had THAT covered too, with many GOOD eating stands, and adult beverages, along with a breakfast buffet inside…I tell ya folks, this crew had ya covered!!!! Shopping for something nice for a friend…??? Plenty of vendors there with some primo goods to pick from!! Hey, ValGal and I had a blast…(I believe I ate too much!!) Hope to see you all at the up-coming Daytona Bike Week!!! Ride safe, remember our Vets, and, stand up for your country!!!

Upsweep Bike Show…Last Resort by Miserable George

Under a very slight threat of rain, ValGal and I ventured to the Last Resort Bar in Harbor Oaks for their Upsweep Bike Show on Sat. Jan. 27, 2018.

I hadn’t been in the Last Resort for quite a spell, but, I can assure you all that it hasn’t lost any of its “old school” look and feel!!!

The pile of Jap Junk out back, may have gotten a bit larger, and a few more names may have been added to the rafters inside the bar room, but, other that that, it remains the way it was back in MY hey-day!!!  We did run into several old friends while there, among them it was a pleasure to see “OJ”, Orange John Marinelli, an old MC drag racing friend, and former national record holder!! Nice to see ol’ Puppy from Outlaw Biker magazine too!! Among the many hand-built motorcycles on display, were several really unique machines with features that I had never seen before…check out the pictures!!! All in all, it was a very enjoyable day, despite the slight drizzle that passed through. Oh yeah, got a damn good hamburger while we were there…thanks Val!!!!!!! Hey, cheer up…Bike Week is almost here!!! Ride safe, and remember our Vets!!!

MANIAC ROBERTS…PAN-SHOVEL by Miserable George

Awhile back, Val and I traveled north to Palm Coast to shoot a drag bike(Featured in OSB), and while we were there, in rolls this 1960 Pan-Shovel, built by Larry Krouse, and now owned by Maniac Roberts. No, I have no idea why they call him “Maniac”…!!!

The 74 CID motor is 1960, set in a 1961 hardtail frame…no stretch, but, some moulding. The motor boasts solid lifters, S&S carb.,and an Andrews 480 cam. Power gets to the road through a mainly stock 1960 HD Tranny. Bike also features an antique taillight, and a hand made ostrich skin seat…neat!!!

Gracing the machine is our model for the day….Lauren…!!!

DON BECKER’S STREET RIDER by Miserable George and ValGal

Despite his passion for speed and explosive power, as in his monster drag machine, Don Becker also builds street bikes, as is evident in this beautiful Evo type Ultima powered custom streeter.

Many of the parts were hand made by Don, as well as being formed by a CNC machine, including the floor boards, oil cooler, mounts for various accessories, plus the specially engraved triple trees. The custom LED powered taillights and turn signals, are a rig I’ve never seen before. The exhaust pipes were also hand formed by Don, complete with hand made heat shields…!

All this, bolted to a custom Carolina frame, accented by a flawless paint and moulding job, by Mike of Orlando, with chrome work by Space Coast Chrome.  I can tell ya folks….this machine turns heads…!

Don has a few more surprises in the works, so stay tuned…
