Billy Lane’s SONS OF SPEED by Miserable George

Well, once again, Old Man Weather put the “blocks” to us as far as HEAT was concerned. Sat., Oct. 16 was BRUTAL at New Smyrna Speedway in Samsula, Fl. for Billy Lane’s 2021 Biketoberfest edition of the Sons of Speed Old Time Motorcycle Races!! Nice crowd on hand for a Biketoberfest event.

Rev, Al gave the Invocation, we pledged allegiance to the flag, and, they were off. I tried my best to keep up with scoring, but didn’t do a very good job!!! There was just one mishap as the riders were returning to the pits after a heat. Jody Perewitz was bumped by another rider, and she went down. Thank the Lord, she was OK, but her bike was damaged to the point where she couldn’t continue…the throttle control cables were rendered useless. She told me…”That’s Racing…!!” What a girl…!!!!The program ran straight through without an intermission, and these were the results as I got them: Michael Lange-Stock 45…EBay Jake-Hot 45…Single-Winner-take-all-Billy Lane…Stock 61-Michael Lange….Hot 61-Michael Lange…Wildcard-Winner take all-Michael Lange . So, that was IT!!!! Race was over just after 4PM. I was BEAT…had to have help getting up the high bank on turn 4 to get through the gate!!! I think next race, I’ll just sit in the Grandstand and do what I can from there!!

Thanks Billy Lane for your hospitality…Miserable George

WILLIE’S TROPICAL TATTOO CHOPPER SHOW Biketoberfest 2021 by Miserable George

The weather around Brevard County, Fla. had started to cool down….just a tad, however, the big chopper show at Willie’s Tattoo on US#1 in Ormond Beach must have attracted that hot weather and brought it back again!!! On Oct.14, 2021, it was HOT!!! There is a good side of that, however, the girls cut back on their clothes, and at Willie’s…..THEY DID!!!! I gotta say however, the array of choppers there just  MIGHT have out-done the babes…(sorry girls…but…it  is a motorcycle show!!!) For Biketoberfest, I’d say that the crowd was UP…!! I ran into several friends that I hadn’t seen for several years…that’s always nice. I had the company of ace photographer, JACKMAN all day…we helped each other spot babes… oh, and BIKES too!!! Lots of food and cold stuff on hand, and I never did get the name of the band…sorry guys. ValGal and I stuck it out to the very end…got pics of all the winners. Glad to see ol’ Willie up and around too…!!! Next show there will be Bike Week, 2022…watch for it. Hey, thank a VET today, and GOD BLESS AMERICA…

Cabbage Patch and Cacklebery Daytona Bikeweek 2021 by Miserable George

We changed our itinerary this year,  and visited the Cabbage Patch on Saturday of Bike Week instead of Wednesday. Had the pleasure of meeting some of ValGal’s friends camped at what they call Paco’s Corner on the north side of the property…away from all the noise. Hooked up with my good friend Jack-Man(as I did at Willie’s) near the wrestling area. Lots of gorgeous wrestlers milling around in that area waiting for the cabbage to be shredded. Also talked with my old friend, Radical Randy, who was acting as an MC that day. After the shredding, the wrestling events began, and because of the hot sun, that cabbage started to…SMELL…..!!! That did it for me…I opted to take a hike away from that mess!!! We roamed the general midway area, got a bite to eat, and of course, had no place to sit. Man…!!! I’m gettin’ too old for this kind of activity. Again, we had ValGal to help with the photos. Is it just me, or was the crowd a bit smaller out here too…??? Maybe…For a change of scenery, we walked across to Cacklebery Campgrounds…more pretty girls and all kinds of vendors too. By now, it was getting late, and we(I) was tired…old age…I was hungry again too!! Time to head south and home…It was a fun day!!!

Thank a VET today, and GOD BLESS AMERICA…..

Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Choppertime Bike Show 2021 by Valgal

Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Choppertime Bike Show 2021 was AGAIN the BEST BIKE SHOW EVER!  PACKED for the 80th year of bike week, this show remains the BEST event of the year, EVERY year…

It was very crowded walking around the show so I took a walk around the outside of the show… WOW! The bikes parking up in the back were awesome!… The pictures will tell my story as always…

I love seeing my friends at these events… They get to see what I do… Jasper from Twisted Minds Inc. out of Brevard Co. Florida showed up at the show and met James from SlipKnot!  Keep your eyes (and ears) open for Twisted Minds Inc. (TMI)! Come see them, it is worth the trip! Face Melting Rock & Roll baby!!!  I also saw Billy Lane too, but he slipped away without a picture…LOL

I hope you all enjoy my POV of Willie’s… I love y’all and will see you soon!

ENJOY!

WILLIE’S TROPICAL TATTOO CHOPPER SHOW 2021 by Miserable George

Well, it was Daytona’s BIG 80th. Bike Week celebration….about 42 for me, give or take!!!! We visited what I call Bike Week’s BEST event…Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Chopper Show!!! It takes place at Willie’s location on Thursday of Bike Week… at 825 Yonge St…(U.S. #1) in Holly Hill. That’s where you can eat, drink, get some new ink, and check out hot custom bikes and hot babes too. There’s a live band in the back yard all day long, as well as free parking in all the area surrounding Willie’s…hey, I mean, what could be better!!!??? I’m not quite certain how many years I’ve been going to this fabulous event, but it HAS been quite a few. Always nice to meet old friends there, and the MC, Roadside Marty is a CLASS ACT!!! Lots of gorgeous Trophy Girls on hand every year to help hand out the awards for the best choppers. Also, many vendors scattered around the property to take care of your needs. ValGal went with me this year, and we had a blast. Give them a shot at Biketoberfest…tell ‘em Old School Biker sent ya….Hey, stand up for your country, thank a VET., and GOD BLESS AMERICA…!!!

Biketoberfest 2020-OH YEAH by Valgal

Well, I have to tell y’all this year’s Biketoberfest at Cacklebery/Cabbage Patch was the best I have been to in a long time!… Big Daddy and the other bands were awesome… I do know 2 other great Brevard County bands made the stage this year… Shovelhed and Twisted Minds (TMI)… We love to see our friends make it out of town to share their greatness all over!

Camping at Paco’s Corner this year was very quiet without the regulars to spice things up… BUT… over at Doby and Dawns campsite things were Rockin’ & Rollin’… Thank you Dawn B for breakfast and Dawn H. I wouldn’t have made it thru Friday night without that cup of coffee… I owe you one Girl!!

I tried to get to Destination Daytona on Saturday but couldn’t get NEAR the place… Drove by Iron Horse and it was the same thing so I turned right off US1 and went right back to Cacklebery… As usual I had no interest in going to ‘town’ since we are not welcome there anymore… Bikers picked Daytona years ago… we can pick another… Ride Safe Everybody!

Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Chopper Show…Biketoberfest…2020 by Miserable George and Valgal

Willie’s Tattoo did it again…another bang-up chopper show on October 15, 2020, and Man…it was hot…the show, AND the weather!! I wish Willie’s were on the opposite side of U.S.#1, so we wouldn’t get that brutal afternoon sun…! BUT, we survived…! The live band…Jacksonville Slim and Express Train were wailing all day in the back yard, and they attracted quite an audience!! There was food and drink back there, along with some large SHADE TREES!!! Lots of places to sit and relax, and maybe enjoy a slight breeze now and then. Plenty of vendors in that area too. Considering it was Biketoberfest, plus the on-going virus threat, the crowd was down a bit, making it easier to walk around and check out the custom machines. A bunch of beauties were judged and prizes awarded. I believe Willie has the winners’ names. Speaking of “beauties”…YES, plenty of beautiful ladies prancing around the grounds as well. Thanks Willie for yet another fabulous show at 825 S. Yonge St. in Ormond Beach…I NEVER miss this one…! Thanks too, to my daughter, ValGal, for all her help!! Thanks to the FWC Officer who administered first aid to my injured wrist…

WILLIE’S TROPICAL TATTOO CHOPPER SHOW by Miserable George

For me, I’d say that this is my favorite segment of Daytona’s Bike Week. It’s many parts of some Bike Week requirements all rolled into one…FREE parking…(4 wheelers too), choppers galore, live band(Big Rick and the Troublemakers), plenty of good food vendors, the cold stuff, (thirst quenchers), babes…( the HOT stuff), celebrities, Billy Lane & Company, Dave & Jody Perewitz to name a few, plus Roadside Marty, the MC who brings all this together into one fabulous show, the climax of which is the awarding of the hand made trophies to all the winners in the Chopper building competition. These choppers are not your run of the mill machines…they are the results of what goes through a man’s mind, and are finally projected into reality!!! If you’ve never seen this production…see it next time at Biketoberfest…you’ll thank me!!! Oh yeah, the weather for this event was perfect, and the crowd was HUGE!!! The pictures can show it to you a lot better than I can with words, so, enjoy!!!

I had a blast shooting them and mixing with the crowd…the kind of “work” I love.

Hey, see ya next time…ride safe, thank a Vet, and, GOD Bless America…
