Bike Day at the TIKI American Legion Post 359 by Miserable George

This was my first visit to Post 359 since their back deck re-build, and, I tell ya, I was amazed!!! The completed project now features about double the floor space, stage, and, 2 (count ‘em) 2 serving bars, plus a ramp for wheelchair access!! Everything built from weather-proof material, so, it will last. PLUS…in the works…additional parking space!!

Folks, this organization went out of their way to make a fabulous party venue…all for YOU!!! AND YES, there were several large fans to help with cooling during these hot spells we’ve been suffering through!!

As usual, the cooks did a fabulous job, especially with those famous half-pound burgers…they truly are the best!!

The Spanks Band had the ladies hopping around out there, despite the over powering heat, and the Jello-shot girl did her job well!!!

Also present was Mack, the former FOX 35 Weather Baby…8 months old now, and almost ready to walk!!

Folks, if you’re looking for a fantastic party place, American Legion Post 359 on U.S.#1, just north of Port St. John is your spot!!

Bike Day is always the 1st. Saturday of the month…good food, good music, babes, drinks, the works…! We’ll be lookin’ for ya.

Ride safe, and, stand up for your country…

H&D Anniversary Party by Miserable George

Sat., June 30, 2018 started out looking OK, weather wise…HOWEVER…as the day progressed, that nice weather turned bad, forcing BIG DADDY’S Band to quickly move inside, from the brand new back-yard band stand, into the safe and dry confines of H&D Roadhouse, where the big Anniversary Party was in full swing!!

Boss Harry was out front “patting” together his own custom, hand made hamburgers….no “ready-mades” for H&D, these were the real thing!! The girls were hawking 50/50’s, and Jello-shots, and people were putting the dance floor to good use!!

I actually DID run into an old friend from like, 16 years ago, who did a little photo shoot with me back then…she looks even BETTER now!!! As the day progressed, the weather actually DID improve…even saw 2 or 3 bikes!!!!

Hey, we certainly wish Harry & Debbie all the best of luck with their enterprise….

we call it…”The Best Biker Bar in Brevard County”…

pop in sometime…you’ll see.

Thanks to the staff too, who always treat us like royalty.

Ride safe, and, stand up for your country…

Benefit for JP at Lou’s Filling Station by Valgal

Although the weather was nasty for most of the day people STILL showed up at Lou’s Filling Station in Downtown Melbourne in support of a great friend…

On his way to see the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall a few weeks ago our friend JP was in an accident… While in the hospital for broken ribs he then got an infection and was moved to ICU with a lot of complications… He is still in ICU and in fear of losing a lot… We all came together, as biker families do, to see if we can help a brother out!

Awesome pulled pork and chicken done on the smoker for all to enjoy…  Raffle tickets and donations came pouring in to help!… Thank you to Lou for the food and fun…

JP we want to see you back in the backyard soon! GET BETTER WE MISS YOU!!!

A BENEFIT FOR RANDY PEPE by Miserable George

Although the Weatherman didn’t exactly cooperate with Jenna’s Breezeway on Sat. May 19th., a benefit for Randy Pepe went on as scheduled!!

Randy recently suffered a heart attack…

, and with no insurance, and now, no work, things got a bit tight. That’s when Jenna’s Breezeway stepped in to lend a hand, and organized a benefit party for Randy…(present with girlfriend Celeste). There were raffles, silent auction, 50/50, all the events to help him along.

Josh, the One-Man Entertainer started the show for the day, with other acts to follow.

Randy, by the way, is a former biker, who once owned 12 Harleys…!!! Unfortunately, due to a prior commitment, I had to leave early, but, I understand that

…the event was a smashing success!!

We certainly wish Randy and Celeste all the best…with friends like his…he can’t miss…!!

TANNER JAM-2018 by Valgal and Miserable George

I’ve been informed that

this year’s Tanner Jam has surpassed ALL OTHERS!!!!

Iffy weather early in the day didn’t seem to deter attendance at all, as over 40 bikes rode for Tanner after a breakfast at H&D Roadhouse, on SR 520, on Merritt Island, FL. Meanwhile, at the H&D grounds, bands were already started, sales of Tanner items was VERY brisk, and there was a big selection of silent auction merchandise…(thanks David for bidding my painting up to $100 !!) All for Tanner!!

Speaking of Tanner, he arrived with Wild Bill, in Bill’s 1940, fire belching,Caddy-Chevvy! The boy LOVES that car. He may have Cystic Fibrosis, but, in no time at all, he was out back, climbing trees and exploring the huge earth-mover tires next door.

The huge number of bikes soon spilled out of the parking lot, which, this year, featured a bandstand to handle live groups which played for 45 minute gigs each! Big Daddy was there to help with the electronic end of things!  Featured bands were:Wicked Garden Gnomes, Undercover, No Pressure, Them Seeds, Loaded Dice, The Action, Rumble Seat, and the Matt Sams Band. Good, live entertainment, all day long!!!

Lots of pretty girls prancing around too, along with super food and drinks. Oh yeah, Debbie Vigliano won a trip to Scotland!!! She was really excited about THAT!!

A big thanks goes out to all the folks who helped make this annual fund raiser a smashing success…Larry and Mo Fallon…couldn’t have done it without you guys, all the H&D staff, and Harry and Debbie, you guys are angels…!! Oh yeah, that parking lot attendant was the prettiest I EVER saw!!! Thank you everyone for a tremendous, fun filled day!!! Ride safe, remember our vets, and…Stand Up For Your Country!!!

Choppertime at Willie’s Tattoo 2018 by Miserable George

I really don’t quite remember how many of Willie’s Chopper Shows I’ve been to, but, several other veterans and I agreed that this years’ was one of the largest!!! As has been the case lately, March 15 dawned bright and clear, AND…COLD!!!  But, thanks to the Big Weatherman in the Sky, it warmed up quite well…well enough for a few of the little darlings prancing around to shed some un-needed clothing…ah yes, biker babes…ya can’t beat ‘em!!! Out front, were several Rat Rods that the little darlings enjoyed posing with, plus, all the custom built bike entries, and in the back yard, were a host of vendors, and of course, the band stand, featuring a friend of mine…Big Rick and the Troublemakers. Back around front, it was time to award trophies, many of them handmade, along with tossing out of souvenir T’s and the usual “coolies”.

Gotta thank all the ladies who posed for me, and the inimitable “Roadside Marty” as well as Willie himself for their hospitality.

Nice to meet Mike Lichter and son, and famous bike builder Dave Perowitz again. All in all, a fabulous day…looking forward to the next one!! Hey, support our troops, and, stand up for your country…ride safe, (and often)…
