Harley Rendezvous 2017 by Rick Kline

The  Indian  Lookout  Country Club hosted the annual  event once again.  The  weekend was filled with Bands, Vendors, Custom  and Antique  Bike shows plus two days of the Great American Rodeo.  The  event takes place in upstate  New York in a little town of Duanesburg, NY  The  Country Club is 200 acres of camping on fenced in private property.  Once inside you make your own fun.  You can buy a bottomless  beer mug and fill it for the whole weekend.  They  have been known for hosting top name  bands such as Molly Hatchet, The  Outlaws,  The  Van Zandt band,Joan Jett and The  Edgar  Winter Group.  The  bands play all weekend long for your music enjoyment. Musician  Ron Jones played on the day stage which entertained the crowd.  They  have a large tent set up right by the Waterin’  Hole Bar that you can get out of the hot sun and maybe a stray shower.

If you enter your custom scoot or Antique  bike, various trophies are given away for the best in the show.

Friday and Saturday afternoons belong to the Great  American Motorcycle  Rodeo.   Your host Chuck  Smith will have you hooten’ and howlinfor your favorite rider in the beer games including  the plank ride, slow race, tire pull, hot dog bite and many more.  There are vendors  there offering bike parts, ad on’s and accessories.  You don’t  have to bring food, there are plenty of food vendors  to fill your stomach  while there. Saturday night is the big event everyone waits for.  The  International Contest which features, a number  of girls who participate and dance for a prize for the best of the show.  A trophy will be given away to the one who does her best if you get my drift.  After the contest The  Rendezvous puts on a fireworks show second  to none for the crowd and the surrounding neighbors that can’t wait for the “Boomers”.  For more information go to their website

www.harleyrendezvous.com or call them at 1-518-864-5659

It’s a weekend  that you don’t  wanna  miss.

Bouncing Around with ValGal

I had such a blast with all my friends this week end…. Yes we (they) got drenched on Saturday on the benefit run for Keith but it was such an awesome break from the heat, nobody seemed to care. My friend Tiffany could have taken the dry way out and rode with me in the truck but NOOOO she is a hard core rider and stayed with her man Rusty…

We ended up at Hard Racks in Christmas Florida.

What AWESOME food they had… Smoked pork, chicken, corn on the cob and ALL the sides and fixin’s… Yummy! I hope y’all enjoy these pictures as much as I do… If ya haven’t seen what Jay plastered on Facebook yet click on these… they tell a story :)… Thank you to Ed and everyone at Hard Racks for a wonderful time!

Love Y’all, Ride Safe!

R.I.P….TONY…..a friend remembered…by Miserable George

I met Tony out at Roscoe’s Chili Challenge many years ago, and he informed me that he owned Dolphins Cove Bar, on Sykes Creek, Merritt Island, SO, we began to frequent the place.

It was the scene of MANY ABATE functions, weddings, glamour demos, and just plain hell raising sessions!!! Then, for reasons of his own, Tony closed the place, and, amid one tremendous, crazy, afternoon of beer, babes, and burn-outs, we bid the old place…GOOD-BY!!!

However, just west of there, Tony opened up the  Smokehouse Saloon, later re-named Pelican Creek Pub. He settled in there for a spell, then decided to sell out and quit the business altogether. New owner, Harry Vigliano, and wife, Deb, renamed the place the H&D Roadhouse, which is where we are today.

We met a bunch of old friends there, at the celebration of Tony’s life recently. It was a sad occasion , but, made kinda happy by the meeting of old friends who partied with us down through the years. Emotional words were spoken, old pictures were displayed, old stories were told, and yes…a few tears were shed. I think it was something Tony would have liked…RIP, my friend, we think about you every day at the old place…!!!
