ROCKET COAST ANTIQUE MC CLUB by Miserable George

Sunday, Aug. 6th., was another blistering , hot, Florida summer day….I mean…it was HOTTT, but, ValGal and I braved the heat, and boogied down to Palm Shores Customs for a gathering of the Rocket Coast Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.

As always, there was a pretty nice crowd, despite the awful heat…we even noticed a few bikes there that we hadn’t seen before. Palm Shores Customs had their shop open, and, inside was a huge electric fan, which did a pretty good job of cooling people off. Also, they had a few of their own customs on display…all of antique status…nice!!

We admired a 1952 Indian there, which we will try to feature later in OSB Magazine!

If you enjoyed adult beverages, the Cabana Shores Restaurant was close by and serving some pretty yummy looking food too. THAT was a big attraction!!! Also admired 2 1958 Chevy BelAires parked in the area…nice cars!! I’m told that their next gathering MIGHT be in the Cocoa-Merritt Island area…so, stay tuned…! Interested in joining…? Call 321-543-8944, OR get ‘em on line at rocketcoastamca@aol.com…Maybe when they get up to our area, it will have cooled down a bit!!! Hey, ride safe…

Harley Rendezvous 2017 by Rick Kline

The  Indian  Lookout  Country Club hosted the annual  event once again.  The  weekend was filled with Bands, Vendors, Custom  and Antique  Bike shows plus two days of the Great American Rodeo.  The  event takes place in upstate  New York in a little town of Duanesburg, NY  The  Country Club is 200 acres of camping on fenced in private property.  Once inside you make your own fun.  You can buy a bottomless  beer mug and fill it for the whole weekend.  They  have been known for hosting top name  bands such as Molly Hatchet, The  Outlaws,  The  Van Zandt band,Joan Jett and The  Edgar  Winter Group.  The  bands play all weekend long for your music enjoyment. Musician  Ron Jones played on the day stage which entertained the crowd.  They  have a large tent set up right by the Waterin’  Hole Bar that you can get out of the hot sun and maybe a stray shower.

If you enter your custom scoot or Antique  bike, various trophies are given away for the best in the show.

Friday and Saturday afternoons belong to the Great  American Motorcycle  Rodeo.   Your host Chuck  Smith will have you hooten’ and howlinfor your favorite rider in the beer games including  the plank ride, slow race, tire pull, hot dog bite and many more.  There are vendors  there offering bike parts, ad on’s and accessories.  You don’t  have to bring food, there are plenty of food vendors  to fill your stomach  while there. Saturday night is the big event everyone waits for.  The  International Contest which features, a number  of girls who participate and dance for a prize for the best of the show.  A trophy will be given away to the one who does her best if you get my drift.  After the contest The  Rendezvous puts on a fireworks show second  to none for the crowd and the surrounding neighbors that can’t wait for the “Boomers”.  For more information go to their website
