POST 359 BIKE DAY AT THE TIKI by Miserable George

Under very cloudy skies, I rolled in to Post 359 at my usual time, and had to really scrounge around for a parking spot…I tell ya folks…the place was JAMMED!!

The band, “Hypersona” was wailing away, folks were dancing, and several people told me…”Check out the chick with the purple hair”…so, I did, and you can see the rather pleasant results…!! The food area was crowded, as were the 2 bars…one at each end of the huge Tiki Patio Deck..!!

The rain held off till around 3:30, but then, we got dumped on!! It moved out about 45 minutes later. There was a drawing for a Booze Basket, and of course, the 50/50, of which a large portion was donated back to 359. Folks, it was a fabulous day among friends!! The membership drive is in full swing, so, think about THAT!!!

Thank a VET today, stand up for your country, and may GOD BLESS AMERICA..!!

Yeah, this old man is thankful to live in a country like the U.S.A….!!!

PROJECT VET RELIEF by Miserable George

We finally caught a warm day on Jan. 31, 2021 for the Project Vet Relief, held at American Legion Post 359 on US#1, just north of Cocoa, Fl. When I arrived, there was a LONG line at the food table, a hot combo was playing, folks were dancing, and it had all the promises of  a pretty successful event. Hot food…cold drinks…and a bunch of attractive ladies added to that promise..! The raffle tickets for the customized AR-15 were SOLD OUT…!!! Motorcycle activity in the main parking area was hot all day long, with several well known clubs represented. I hadn’t been out much because of the COLD weather, so, this party felt GOOD!!! Nice to bump into several old friends too. All in all, a pleasant way to spend a warm Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned for more up-coming events at 359. Stand up for your country, thank a vet, and GOD BLESS AMERICA…!!!

Wrecking Crew Chili Cook-Off by Miserable George

With the weather being “iffy”, their street blocked off, and me…a stranger to the area, AND, it was dark on that Dec. 12, 2020, all combined, I was lucky to find the Wrecking Crew CH….BUT…I found it…!!! Nice crowd was already there sampling the chili creations of 9 different cooks, and I joined right in. I sampled 5 different pots, made my choice, and voted! The winners were awarded cash, and medallion type trophies, plus, the #1 winner received a neat model privy. Hey, after eating all that chili….well….you figure it out!!! I believe this will be an annual event, and I’m glad, because I LOVE CHILI…!!!   My thanks goes out to the Wrecking Crew  MC for their hospitality. Keep yer eyes peeled for other up-coming events…

H&D Roadhouse…Bikes ‘n Babes

In the few short years that H&D Roadhouse has been open, it has become Brevard County’s primo Biker Bar, featuring bikes, cars, and of course…BABES. We’ve tried to cover those categories today in Old School Biker Magazine. We ask on behalf of Harry and Deb Vigliano, the owners and operators, that you patronize this fabulous establishment….a local business, run by local folks. You’ll be glad you did…we thank you…THEY thank you…! GOD bless you all…

Gus Karnes Flatty by Valgal

Gus Karnes HD  1942 WLA 45 SV, known as a flathead… I was on a mission in Daytona the other day and stopped to see a good friend Brent Dwyer.

That’s when I met Gus… He is the owner of this beautiful Flatty… I asked about info on this bike and he said it was “civilianized out of the box” Then said “it’s a good bike”. I guess that’s all that needed to be said.

Gus you are one of the original ‘old school’ bikers I love and Thank you so much for your hospitality…

H&D  ROADHOUSE by Miserable George

…..a tribute to our friends who have brought us so much joy…

Like you all, I’m stuck in the house, and what better way to make use of all my time, than to put together a piece to pay tribute to H&D Roadhouse. These images are from the various gatherings we’ve attended at Harry and Debbie’s establishment on SR 520 East, just across from the Lincoln dealer. There is an element of sadness here, in that some of the folks you’ll see are no longer with us, but, I’m sure they are all smiling down, and watching over us all. We pray that this terrible situation we are experiencing presently, will soon go away, and hopefully, we’ll all come out on top. When things DO finally clear up, let’s all get out there and welcome Harry and Deb back into business. They’ve helped many of us down through the years…let’s NOW help them…!!! GOD bless you guys…!!!
